Response to an article in The Telegraph Newspaper

Thursday, February 28, 2019

This submission is in response to a recent article that appeared in the Telegraph newspaper dated 20th February 2019, headline “BPOPF poor record management susceptible to fraud-study’’.

The BPOPF would like to put it on record that the article should not have been written, as the study conducted by Ms Porogo was an academic study for purposes of completing her course at the University of Botswana.

She was granted permission to conduct the study at the BPOPF on a confidential basis.

The study was conducted in January 2013, while administration was provided by Alexander Forbes, which included all member records.

BPOPF has a Records Management Policy, Disaster Management Plan, as well as Records Management Procedures and Standards.
