Employer Trustee

Dr. Kotlaamo Malefho is the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Wellness, a position that he has held since 2010. Dr. Malefho was admitted to the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (MRCS) in 2003, and has extensive experience as an accidents and emergency practitioner. He began his career as a teacher of general anesthesia and intensive care and served as a Specialist Emergency Physician at Princess Marina Hospital between 2004 and 2006. He was then promoted to Superintendent of the same institution, a post that he held until 2008. During his tenure as superintendent, performance indices at the hospital improved, including drug availability and waiting times for operations. Dr. Malefho is passionate about the development of pre- hospital care, which he is confident will revolutionise the national ambulance service and developed the country’s national guidelines on air- ambulance services.
